Survey: so...who actually cares?

Hey, it's not my fault life is insanely busy right now. Okay, maybe it is, but it seems like a lot of other people are insanely busy too, so that makes me feel better.

I'm sorry for not posting in ages and ages...

But I can use an ego boost right now. Feel free to help:

Those who actually noticed I hadn't written anything in 2 weeks and missed me, please say so in the comments so I can feel a little better and it might make me a little more dedicated to writing stuff because I know people care about me!!!!!!

Those who noticed but don't care, feel free to comment too. Place yourself in catagory 2. :)

Those who didn't notice but care, I can use your support even though you have bad observational skills! Place yourself in catagory 3. :)

Those who didn't notice and don't care, but don't want to say it out loud and plan on lying in the comments saying that you notice and care, just say you're in catagory 4. :)

Those who didn't notice but do care, but are planning on lying in the comments saying that they did notice my long absence, place yourself in catagory 5.

Those who did notice and do care but want to lie and say that they didn't notice and don't care in order to make me feel bad, that's catagory 6.

I am interested to see the results of this survey. I had better not get any catagory 6s. :D

So fill out the survey, if nothing else! Reading the rest of this post is optional. :)

Anyways, how about another update?

I got my first sunburn last weekend. I was riding my bike. I rode for 30 miles. It was fun and very tiring. And I'm not really a biker, so 30 miles is a HUGE accomplishment for me.

If there's anyone else into astronomy, Venus, Mars, and Saturn are all visible in the night sky now. I can tell you how to find Venus, but I don't know if I can describe online how to find the others. I guess you can try a starmap, but I don't know if you would actually be able to match up the map to the sky...anyways, for Venus, go outside around sunset, maybe 7 or 8 or 9 PM, look up in the sky, (in my place it's on the west, maybe northwest, so I'm assuming it should be the same everywhere...), anyways, look for the BRIGHTEST thing in the sky. Look up and if you see something that makes you go "Whoa that star is bright" then that's Venus. Sort of a bright yellow. Brighter than all the other stars, brighter than a lot of airplanes. Feel free to point a pair of binoculars or a telescope at it, if you have one. If you look at Venus every half hour, or every hour or so, you'll notice it slowly going down lower into the sky. Venus would have set by around 9, 9:30PM, but still, that should be plenty of time for you if you want to see it. :)

Did you know that your past can be affected by the future? Stuff that hasn't even happened yet might be affecting your past and your present? Yeah, confusing, huh? Space and time and the fabric of Spacetime can be very strange. Don't pick an extra credit report on cosmology if you don't like confusing things.

I had a nice conversation with Feathers last night where I was complaining about my crush. After discussing what happened and helping me with interpreting a few turn of events, we agreed that it was a rejection. :( Cue depressing music.

My graduation is next week, then I'm done with high school and moving on to college. I'm kinda scared, really. Well, I have three months to figure out what the heck is going on in life. Well, I hope I don't spend all summer moping around from my first rejection. :P

And, finally, I PROMISE to post more story as soon as I can! (though I have just a tiny small history of not keeping a few promises, so believe at your own risk.) :)

Yup, so I guess thats all I have for now...if nothing else, comment filling out the survey!!! Thanks all you people!!!

  1. I noticed and missed your posts!!

Confusing things are awesome :D especially if it's time/space.

Everyone is graduation lately O_O Although I supppose that's not surprising since it's that time of year...

  2. There has been many a time where I've confused myself with theories of space-time. It's actually kinda fun sometimes!

Oh and I'm most definitely in category 1 :D

  3. ok, I totally noticed and cared, and I was about to comment on your last one that you hadn't posted anything, but I wasn't sure if you would see it... anyhow, sorry about the rejection (I know how that feels) and I won't tell you congrats for your graduation :D

also, I have one of those star finder things, it came with my textbook. And one of those computer programs that finds it for you, you know?

  6. Category 6 FTW!
I hope you feel loved, Sky. I just took about thirty seconds out of my day to read this crap.

Okay, KIDDING! You know we missed you! We all did!

  7. Hey Sky! I cared and I really missed your posts, but can I not go into a catagory? That'll be great! ZOMG, I LOVE ASTRONOMY! I'M SERIOUS! I love anything with the Universe and beyond. I just...love it!

    Thanks for posting, Sky!

    Peace and hair grease,
    -Alyssia

P.S. WE MISSED YOU!!!! BELIEVE THAT!

  8. Category 3.. I realize that I have bad observational skills so it isn't much of a surprise.
Sorry about your crush *huggles* Hope you feel better..

  9. I'm category 7. I sorta noticed that you haven't been blogging but I thought nothing of it because of all your comments on FB. :D

You know, I could be wrong about the girl. I'm not the 100% accurate girl-action-interpretor/translator, there's no such thing, since every girl is different. But it seemed like you knew the answer in the back of your mind, and it sorta became clearer after what she said. :( Don't mope! Just have some more chocolate and ice cream. And use that yearbook signature idea I gave you, it will clear everything up. Or make a mess of everything. :D

  10. I am not really categorizable, because I do care and I think I noticed, but it was not a conscious "Hey, why hasn't he posted?!" so much as a subconscious "Hey, why hasn't he posted?!"

I have now officially read way too much Freud. :D

  11. WOW, 10 comments within...14 hours of posting this...I THINK THATS A NEW RECORD!!! PEOPLE CARE!!! YAY!!! THANK YOU!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

    ahem. here I go...

@rebel: haha, the cosmic stuff of the universe...it's confusing. Yet awesome.
Graduation is confusing too though, sadly, because after you graduate, you go, "now what?" in your head. June...the time when people move on to the next phase in life...:D

@adit: catagory 1, YAY! :D and you should try reading some of Stephen Hawking's work. That's confusing yet enlightening at the same time. Did you know the guy can think in 4D?

@jg: aw, thanks for that! and for not congradulating me. :) Oh, and is your computer program Starry Nights? Computer programs may have the planets in them; most starcharts don't have it printed though since planets move differently than stars. My biggest problem when I started astronomy (and I assume many people's) is that I couldn't match up the stars in the sky to the stars in my starchart...it took a while to get used to.

@gummy: haha, thank you for not annoying me. should I be thankful that you are busy? no, that might be mean of me...:D:D:D

@amar: 28??? why so late? that must mean you start school in September though right? Please don't tell me you start in August like the rest of us, because that would just suck. And senior year...good luck! Don't get senioritis! It's bad! Really bad!

*gasps for breath, in preparation of screaming at Scott.*

@Scott: I HATE YOU. 30 seconds? Crap? And I'm supposed to feel special? GRR. I HATE YOU (in the kindest most loving way possible.) :D

@Aly: Yay, another astronomy person! Astronomy IS pretty awesome...really, it's a pretty humbling science. Like looking through a telescope at a small fuzzy blob, and realizing that's the Andromeda Galaxy 2 million light years away...

@Bruce: I still can't get used to calling you Bruce...:) But thanks for caring!!! I'll put the story up soon, I promise! You'll be in it soon too!

@feathers: haha, okay, nice catgory. But even if you're not right, I'll just pretend you are so I can get over it. 6 school days left. I saw her today and wanted to punch her in the face. (not sure if thats good, but hey. it's working.) :P Instead, I just played with my DS in order to distract myself. There's just this something about feeling better once it is (or you believe it is) concrete. Like "rejection" is a concrete word and you can move on after that. (Thanks for helping me with that, really!)

@zella: oh, I wouldn't even begin to know how to catagorize you. Maybe "booknerd" except that might go for Feathers as well. Does subconscious noticing still count as noticing? :D And hey, reading Freud is more productive than reading magazines and video game guides. :D

*gasps for breath* wow that was long but THANK YOU EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sparklers are such a reliable group when you need anything. :D

  12. THINKING IN 4D? If I could do that, I'd pretty much screw 90% of my motoric skills too!

    ReplyDelete
  13. yeah, it is Starry Night. My little brother got all into astronomy a couple years ago and got a telescope, too. My star chart doesn't have places for the planets, but it does have guides to locating them, so...

    ReplyDelete
  14. @adit: haha, more like 99%, but yeah, if you can't write and stare at problems, you have to think about it in an, um, unique way...

@jg: oh, cool! try and take a look! :D
